Question: Before Apple, iPod creator Tony Fadell had his MP3 player idea rejected by which two companies?
Answer: RealNetworks and Philips
Before joining Apple and becoming known as the "Father of the iPod," Tony Fadell initially pitched his revolutionary MP3 player concept to two major companies — RealNetworks and Philips.
At Philips, where Fadell had previously worked, his idea for a portable music player was dismissed as too risky and not aligned with the company’s product focus. When he then approached RealNetworks, a major player in digital media software at the time, they also turned him down, citing a lack of interest in hardware products.
Undeterred, Fadell’s persistence eventually led him to Apple, where his concept found a perfect fit.
