Tech History: Steve Jobs Tricked Woz Out of Money

Back in the 1970s, Atari asked Steve Jobs to create a new game. He brought in his friend Steve "Woz" Wozniak to help, promising to split the pay.
Atari paid Jobs a $5,000 bonus, but he told Woz it was only $700—and gave him half. Wozniak didn’t find out the truth for years. When he did, he said, “I would have done it for free.”
Even legends have messy beginnings. And sometimes, business isn’t as clean as code.
